Creighton University’s “Fly Together” initiative is expanding the athletic facility footprint on campus. At the center of the new recreational and athletic corridor is the Sports Performance Center, a 50,000 square-foot facility for the University’s 300 student-athletes, coaches, and staff.
The Jesuit principles of mind, body, and spirit outline a concept of care for the whole person (cura personalis). The goal of Creighton’s new sports facility is to support overall well-being through physical training, academic accomplishment, and spiritual reflection.
The blue jay, a central part of Creighton’s identity, plays a vital role in the ecosystem, spreading seeds that allow forests to grow. The architecture of the project supports connection to nature to honor this and support both the holistic wellness of students.
