In 2022, the Great Plains Black History Museum partnered with Holland Basham Architects to evaluate its current space and explore potential sites for a new, permanent facility. This collaboration included programming and conceptual design for multiple locations, ultimately leading to the selection of a site in North Omaha’s Historic and Cultural District—adjacent to the Museum’s original 1975 location.
This new home marks a significant step forward for the Great Plains Black History Museum.
