The two-acre redevelopment near the north entrance will be home to the new “Glacier Bay Landing” attraction. This Pacific Northwest themed-destination satisfies the increased demand for visitor amenities due to the new and future exhibits opening in that region of the zoo. The area includes a new concessions building, a sweet shop serving cold treats, and an open-air pavilion for hosting outdoor events. A play area for children features a lighthouse play structure and outdoor shaded seating areas for guests. Along the main path, the outdoor space are punctuated by a retention pond featuring a floating plane to complete the theme.
