The Mill

Located near downtown Benson, The Mill apartments reactivate the urban site. Vast grade changes across the site provided an opportunity for an underground parking entrance along the north while maintaining an on grade pedestrian entrance at the southwest corner. The building’s curved form follows the unique shape of the property boundaries and pays tribute to the site’s history as a local grain silo. Curved steel balconies and an overhead canopy structure extend the site contours at the building corner to signify the entrance to Benson. The four-story residential complex design, situated above the parking structure, provides expansive views to the Benson neighborhood while also creating an interior courtyard for resident gatherings and entertainment.
